Sarek cloudberry

Golden. Soft. Juicy.

Sarek National Park is in the Jokkmokk Municipality of Lapland province in the northern most part of Sweden. The area is dominated by majestic mountains, deep winding valleys and over 100 glaciers. Because most of the area is above the tree line, there is very little vegetation.

The cloudberry is a tiny fruit with special character. It scatters white flowers over the arctic marshes, painting a mysterious mist just above the ground. If the flower defies the frost, a golden berry with an eccentric and mysterious aroma emerges to reflect the harsh climate and growing conditions.

Cloudberries ripen to a golden yellow colour. They are soft and juicy with a distinctive tart taste. Indigenous to northern mountainous regions, they are temptingly exclusive and are sought after among culinary circles around the world.
