Nordic flavours
From the world's Nordic flavour house
Our local heritage
We are proud of our Nordic roots and heritage. Established in 1901 in Copenhagen by Einar Willumsen, the company quickly expanded into Sweden. Today, we are an innovative international company guided by strong Nordic values. This connection to our surroundings inspires us to create a diverse palette of flavors drawn from the shorelines, lakes, forests, and gardens of the Nordics, all designed to please the palate.
The Nordics in numbers
Scandinavia boasts a geography as diverse as its rich culture, offering an unparalleled blend of natural landscapes. Norway’s coastline, stretching over 103,000 km, is renowned for its dramatic fjords, pristine beaches, and thousands of islands, making it a maritime paradise. Sweden, with nearly 70% of its land covered in forests, features lush green landscapes interspersed with over 100,000 lakes, while Finland, aptly called “the land of a thousand lakes,” is home to nearly 188,000 freshwater bodies and expansive woodlands. Together, these elements create a region celebrated for its breathtaking vistas, sustainable living, and outdoor recreation. With its rolling hills, fertile farmland, and approximately 8,750 km of coastline, Denmark adds a touch of maritime charm with sandy beaches, idyllic islands, and vibrant coastal towns. Together, these lands form a region defined by stunning natural beauty and endless opportunities for exploration.

The landscapes and seas of the North
In the early 2000s, Nordic cuisine emerged as a leading force in the gastronomic scene. Today, restaurants like Noma, Kadeau, and Jordnaer showcase authentic Nordic flavours. This has led us to explore the herbs commonly found in Scandinavian gardens, the flowers that bloom along our numerous coastal areas, and the berries that can be foraged in our lush forests.
